"Stories are a specialized form of dreaming, deeply woven into the fabric of children's literature, where creative writing flourishes. They often carry messages of kindness and hope, reflecting personal stories that inspire positivity in our lives." — Neil Gaiman

My name is Karen Faverty

Welcome

Take your time, look around and learn how I got here. Follow as my  journey continues.  I hope you enjoy where it goes.

About Me

Raised in 1950s Indiana on simple joys and nature, I later moved west to build a family and a new life. Now on the North Olympic Peninsula, I write surrounded by wonder—still seeing the world through the eyes of the little girl within.

Bio

I Wrote This Song And Poem About My Roots

I am from morning glories and clear blue skies.

Apple pies and pungent cow pies.

Silos, hog lots, hide and seek.

“Count to ten - and do not peek!”

I am from rumbling summer thunderstorms

Wide-eyed wonder watching worms.

Twilight’s splendor, lightning bugs in a jar,

Humid night air through the back screen door.

I am from grandma hugs and braided rag rugs.

Childhood cares and bedtime prayers.

Heartland dreams stowed in my heart go with me

Heirloom seeds of kindness and hope I carried

Bloomed into me.
